Meeting Annie Sloan at Apple Box Design Studio™
I was so thrilled to be one of the lucky people to receive an invitation to the Launch Party of the Apple Box Design Studio in St. Albert, Alberta last night. Leanne Playter is the Chief Reimaginer of this spacious new studio along with her beautiful boutique in the historic Edmonton Highlands neighborhood. Leanne's special guest for the evening was the one and only Annie Sloan who came all the way from the UK. To say it was a pleasure meeting her would be an understatement.
She has rock star status in the chalk paint world. Can you tell by my facial expression that I'm trying hard to restrain from jumping for joy? She is so incredibly down-to-earth and friendly and I just love her easy-going energy. If you don't know her story you can read it HERE

Visits to her quaint boutique in the historic highlands district are like catching up with an old friend. She is so warm and friendly and such fun to be around. I've learned to never be in a hurry when stopping by.

Such fun to watch her in action. She was so gracious in answering the numerous questions from the guests. I so wanted to ask her about dark wax but was too shy to hold up my hand. Leanne, I'm coming to pick your brain one afternoon. 😉

They carry an array of stencils, fabrics, home décor, furniture knobs, and specialty paint supplies too. I bought the cutest French wall hooks.
I wanted to give Leanne a congratulatory gift and decided it must be handmade using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™in the colors Old White and Versailles. She didn't have time to open it during the event but gosh, I hope she likes it.
