12 Most Popular Posts of 2019
Hello friends, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! The year is coming to a close in less than 24 hours (gosh that went by fast) and I wanted to pop in today to let you know how much I appreciate YOU! Thank you so much for being part of the IF family. Your kindness, support, and encouragement is the motivation that keeps me keep'n on in the workshop and means so much.
I thought it would be fun to end the year with a little trip down memory lane to see which projects made the 12 most popular posts of 2019 by all of YOU.
Every year I'm surprised by some of the projects that made the list and others that didn't. Putting this list together is also a very helpful gauge to see what type of projects I should be doing more of in the coming year.
So without further ado, here they are starting with the twelfth most popular and working our way down towards the project you made the most popular of the year.
I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Which one was YOUR personal favorite?

12 Most Popular Posts of 2019 - A Year In Review
Every year I'm surprised by some of the projects that made the list and others that didn't. Putting this list together is also a very helpful gauge to see what type of projects I should be doing more of in the coming year.
So without further ado, here they are starting with the twelfth most popular and working our way down towards the project you made the most popular of the year.
Number 12 - Vintage Flip Top Table Makeover
This pretty makeover with a stenciled French poem did not go without a hitch. I dropped the top mid-makeover and the scalloped edge went flying across the room in a few pieces. Thankfully I was able to redeem the top and couldn't be more happy with the results.Number 11 - French Chatellerault Console Table
This oval console table with unique octagonal columns and empire style feet had great bones but was looking a little sad when I got it. It definitely has some personality now and thanks to the pretty rose furniture transfer, has lovely French Country charm.Number 10 - Vintage Headboard Dining Bench
I think the funny story behind why this well-used bench in our dining room needed a makeover is what made this post so popular. The before and after bench transformation has merit for making the cut too. We love the new look so much more!Number 9 - Pink Ombre Waterfall Dresser
I was happy to see this dresser made the list. It was my first attempt with the ombre paint technique and I had so much fun. I definitely plan on doing another ombre makeover in 2020, I'm just waiting for the right piece to come along.Number 8 - DIY Faux Apothecary Cabinet
This started as my parent's first dresser from the late 1950s. It's had a few makeovers over the years, most recently transformed into an apothecary cabinet. While it may look like there are 15 drawers, in reality there are only two. The surprise is waiting inside. My son and daughter-in-law are using it as a fun bar for their basement family room!Number 7 - White Farmhouse Sideboard Buffet
This was one of the easiest furniture makeovers of the year. Just a wash of paint completely transformed this children's dresser into a lovely dining room buffet with Farmhouse charm. A surprise pop of color is waiting inside.Number 6 - No-Sew Bed Skirt For Adjustable Beds
But it also works for regular beds too! I received so many emails thanking me for this skirt tutorial. No more lifting a heavy mattress to remove the bed skirt for laundering! While intended for adjustable reclining beds this no-sew bed skirt idea works for most bed styles.Number 5 - Vintage 9-Drawer Glossy to Farmhouse Dresser
I was thrilled to see this makeover made the cut because it is one of those love or hate finishes. I definitely stepped outside my distressing comfort zone on this one. The Farmhouse finish looks so good in our master bedroom.Number 4 - Repurposed Mid-Century Modern Cabinet
It's all about that bright happy yellow on this one! A thrift store MCM dining sideboard find that had seen it's better days. My daughter wanted a media cabinet for her living room so we repurposed it to house media components. She picked the color which had me step outside of my comfort zone.Number 3 - DIY Stuffed Animal Zoo Gift Idea
These DIY Zoos have been on fire this holiday season so I'm not surprised they made the list. What did surprise me was that they were the third most popular post on the blog this year. We made them last Christmas for our grandchildren to corral their stuffies in one place. They were a big hit with Mommy too, who planted the seed in our heads.Number 2 - How To Harvest And Dry Lavender
This post motivated so many of you to harvest the lavender growing in your flower beds! I'm so glad I decided to share the tips I learned on how to harvest fresh lavender, dry the flowers indoors, along with suggested uses for the fragrant blooms. Most Popular Post - Built-In Pantry Makeover
I have to say this one took me by total surprise! In fact, I debated for days whether to post the makeover because I didn't think there was a significant difference between the before and after. But there definitely is a HUGE difference between the original Before photo (included in the post) and the After because this farmhouse built-in kitchen pantry used to be a small dining hutch!MY Favorite - Repurposed Jewelry Box Door Christmas Ornament
Normally this is where I share my favorite project of the year but instead, I decided to choose my favorite holiday DIY of 2019. Why? Because this year I really amped the holiday projects and this was my favorite to make. A red Christmas door ornament made from an old jewelry box with the glass in the door turned into antiqued mercury glass.I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Which one was YOUR personal favorite?

ReplyDeleteWishing you lots of gorgeous moments and happy makeovers for 2020 my friend.
Well you know how to make a gal's first day back from Christmas vacation! Thank you so much for your sweet comment and I'm thrilled your daughter had a visit in my little corner of the blogosphere. I think had I posted your favorite, the yellow cabinet, earlier in the year, it would most definitely have made the most popular on the list. Wishing you a fabulous 2020 and I can't wait to see what amazing projects YOU have in store for us this year. Happy New Year! xo
