5 Minute Fall Rope Wreath With Wood-Burned Banner
Today I'm sharing two easy and budget-friendly craft ideas for Fall. One is an easy 5-Minute autumn rope wreath idea from dollar store finds. The other is how to make an adorable wood-burned bunting flag banner to hang from the wreath.
Easy Fall Wreath With Mini Wood Bunting Flag Banner
Everything to make the small sunflower wreath can be found at the dollar store so it's very inexpensive to make. The mini wood bunting flag banner is the perfect beginner wood-burning project and took less than ten minutes to make.
Dollar Store Supplies You'll Need To Make It
These are the dollar supplies I used to make it. I think I bought the hot glue gun there too! The sunflowers came five on a stem so I have two left for another fall craft.

Woodburning Tool Kit OR Brown Sharpie Marker
I've broken the post into two sections, one is a tutorial on how to make the mini wood tile banner and the other is a tutorial on how to make the easy peasy fall rope wreath.
We'll begin with how to make the adorable wood-burned mini flag banner to hang on the small autumn rope wreath.
This was my first attempt at using a woodburning tool. I've got a long way to go to master wood-burning but I figured I'd start small with simple letters on small balsa wood flags.
Easy Mini Wood-Burned Bunting Flag Wreath Banner
I found the balsa wood mini flags at the dollar store. They come in a box of assorted mini wooden craft shapes. Dollarama sells different ones for every new season and I found this one in the Spring. I always grab them for seasonal crafting potential.
Start by tracing letters onto each mini wooden flag either freehand or with a small letter stencil like I did.
Burning the letters onto the wooden flags is totally optional, a brown marker is just fine too. I was itching to use my wood-burning tool and figured this would be an easy beginner project to learn. I used the cone point tip for fine lines, curves, dots, and other fine details.
They recommend that you tape the metal stand that comes with the wood-burning tool down onto your work surface and it didn't take long for me to understand why. This thing gets hot!
My wood-burned letters are not perfect and I definitely need more practice but it was fun trying. If you have any woodburning tips, I sure could use all the help I can get.
Next, string the wood-burned flags onto a strand of natural twine with a large-eye needle.
Set the mini wreath banner aside and now we're ready to make the easy peasy sunflower rope wreath.
Easy 5-Minute Rope Wreath For Autumn
This is one of the easiest tutorials I've written on the blog and you'll have your autumn rope wreath ready to hang up in less than five minutes!
- Snip the sunflowers from the dollar store floral picks with wire cutters.
- Attach three sunflowers on the bottom of the rope wreath with a hot glue gun.
- Hang the mini wreath banner from the back of the wreath with dabs of hot glue.
I told you it was easy peasy!

ReplyDeleteMarie,
ReplyDeleteI like any unique wreath and this one made with rope certainly fits the bill. Where did you find the rope wreath form? Or did you wrap it yourself? I've never seen one ready to use. Love the woodburned pennant. Very cute.
I found the readymade rope wreath at Dollarama (Canadian retailer) but I've also seen them at Dollar Tree. Hope this helps!
